The News...
A note from the Captain on the annual
University Air Squadron Match
All
That was a close run thing on Sunday.
Without Flt Lt Ady Waters volunteering to be Butt Officer, without Frank Carlin
and newcomer Officer Cadet Matt Frey joining the coaching staff when they
realized our predicament and without the continued presence of the usual
stalwarts we would have been in deep do do.
So to those already named and: Kip Morton, Karen Ryan, Mick Silver, Chris
Hockley, Phil Perry, Chris Fitzpatrick, Scott Glanville, Conrad Steele-Benny,
Julie Ouston, Iain Robertson, Dave Calvert, not forgetting Bernard Parke. I
would like to officially thank you on behalf of the RAFTRC, RAFSAA and the RAF
for your efforts on Sunday. Coaching all day in that heat cannot have been easy
and that you all did so with continued enthusiasm throughout was remarkable.
This year the concurrent England – Germany football match got in the way of any
finale for our Match but rest assured only one performance was dire and it
wasn’t ours.
I am honoured to be your Captain.
Neil Moxon
Officer
Cadet Hobday of Northumbrian UAS, with a score of 35.6 won the individual
competition and in the process helped his UAS to win the Team Match.
